While I was in Israel over the summer I made a חָבֵר (friend), Mara. Mara and I shared a strange phenomenon while we were traveling giving us the opportunity to bond. Neither of us were able to work out (because of the traveling) and therefore we were eating like c r a p, which made us feel super $h*tty - classic case of cause and effect.
This is the feeling I have had for the last four days....
And I feel like I've put on 8-10 lbs. of cookies, candy, cake, pie, biscuits, turkey, and mac n' cheese.
BECAUSE IN THE LAST FOUR DAYS I HAVE NOT RUN!
And, I'll just go ahead and say it... I've been cranky in the mornings, I've been a real B at work, and I've been eating straight junk for food.
Wow... this sounds remarkably similar to period problems... ANYWAY
Running makes me feel good, eat good, and be good.
When I run know I need to fuel my body but really, I don't want to ruin all the work I put in by eating slow foods- I need to be eating go foods.
So, why wasn't I running?
On and off the last few weeks the arch of my foot has been sore. Nothing too bad, usually I've been able to take a day off and allow any soreness to subside. The Wobble Gobble and my 10 miler last week I think may have been a little too much, so I decided to take some extra time.
Taking just a few days proved to be more difficult then I had imagined and it's has had quite a negative effect on me. It's absolutely true what they say, running effects mood, confidence, eating habits, sleep habits, you name it.
So, today I took back some of the control.
1. I went for a little run, foot felt alright.
2. I set-up a doctors appointment for Tuesday (which I'm hoping she doesn't just say, "Stop running").
3. I'm going to have a healthy dinner
4. I'm going to skip dessert
5. Go to bed at a reasonable hour so I can begin the weekend well rested!
